The project was done on time and on budget, both key points. Connie was able to provide sage advice during consultant meetings and provided excellent training for our employees. She offered to assist in multiple areas and was of great value. The only negative experience was the lack of knowledge of transitioning off of our former provider and we lost some valuable data due to some confusion on the process.

UKG – Learn to use custom reporting to your advantage. Seems daunting at first but it’s been super helpful and efficient when trying to look at specific data sets.

Ascend – I don’t have any specific lessons learned, but the payroll service has been exceptional. As someone new to both the company and payroll processing, Linda’s guidance and support have been invaluable. There is never a shortage of ad-hoc payroll requests and she is always responsive, patient, and helpful. Her partnership has played a role in my success and I enjoy working with her.

When working with an implementation partner, there is a large ramp-up time required to mutually learn the software and the way with which your organization will use it. As a result, be prepared for longer hours of required connection/involvement. Do invest in the pre-build/design activities with your implementation partner; this was a critical step that I’m glad we took with Ascend. It helped our team and our consultant direct the project from the beginning when working with UKG. Additionally, it provided our consultant the context needed to advocate on our company’s behalf during our early calls with UKG, when we were still learning the language and design of the system.

Mike McCoy is an excellent consulting partner for UKG Pro implementations. This is the first implementation for the majority of our Implementation Team members and Mike’s expertise helped us keep the project move forward and meet implementation milestones. He was originally assigned to Phase I, but picked up Phase II as we accelerated our implementation plan. We experienced UKG implementation analysts who were unprepared for the New Experience menus and workflows and Mike was very helpful in navigating this shortfall with us.
