1) we thought we had the whole project figured out and scoped and only needed a consultant to come in and do the work. boy were we wrong.
2) always ask experienced consultants …and the CloudSmarHr team was… for their feedback/opinions because we learned more about our software asking them questions than we thought.
3) you also need to be careful of over delivery…features you do not really need. but if someone on your team says “this feature is must-have”…they made it happen. i guess ‘planning’ is needed here.
