SCOPING ACCURACY:
How well did your implementation partner scope the work and understand your needs during the pre-sales process?
Partner under-quoted the project and we had multiple change orders
Was the implementation team who actually performed the work the same team that was proposed?
Slight change in team
What “Lessons Learned” would you provide to others implementing with this partner / software? What else would you tell us about your project experience?
While the UKG implementation team and service itself is another story, I would like to focus on working with HRchitect, specifically Beth Breault. We brought on HRchitect about 5 months into our project to assist us with delivering training. As we were getting close to our go-live date, there were just too many issues with the system configuration that needed to be done in both UKG Pro and WFM. Being new to UKG, our internal project team didn’t know what we didn’t know, and Beth jumped right in to help us with our Pro configuration items. She listened to and understood what our issues were and immediately started consulting on how to fix them, suggesting things we could do differently and bringing up things we may have missed. She joined all our calls with our UKG consultant and was an advocate for us on what needed to get done. She has spent hours running reports, updating data and validating data for testing, and her meticulous work has helps us correct our configuration and put us in a spot better than we could have been without her. In addition to providing configuration and testing support, she also creating Pro training materials and conducted several live trainings for our employees. I cannot stress enough how much work Beth has done for us to ensure our Pro environment is where it needs to be. She has worked after hours and on weekends and always is available to jump on last minute calls. I can say with 100% confidence that without Beth, we would have had to add months more of work to get our Pro environment ready for go-live. I only wish we would have employed Beth and the entire HRchitect team from the start of go-live.
General lessons learned from a full scale system implementation: 1. have a dedicated internal project manager 2. have a few dedicated internal implementation analysts 3. Employee partner consultants from the start 4. Have a dedicated change management team from the start
