    The process design phase lacked critical groundwork: “as-is” workflows weren’t documented, mapping activities were delayed,
    and business rules remained incomplete. These oversights led to misaligned solutions and extensive rework, causing confusion
    across teams and, in some cases, a regression to legacy tools.​

    ​A stronger focus on early documentation, stakeholder validation, and tailored design is critical to future success.

    To improve future delivery, we must ensure clear documentation, retain design control, involve the right experts early, and
    map “as-is” processes thoroughly before configuration begins.

    We outsource much of our on prem HCM support and development to Zalaris, and have done so for some years now
    Whilst not always an ideal solution, with internal limitations in relation to resource, we have had to build a close working relationships with the Zalaris team over the years. This particular project was a challenging implementation replacing a Tripartite integration with a ‘simpler’ solution ‘ but as we all know, a simpler solution is not always simpler to build and deliver, and this has been no different, but we are over the line today with minimal issue thus far

    SuccessFactors implementations cannot be rushed. Plan and estimate timelines as accurately as possible. The in-country complexities were definitely challenging and made it difficult to maintain all of the timelines. Don’t underestimate Resources. Resource up as much as possible. Our Partner always worked very well with us. It was very ‘we’ centric, not ‘them’ and ‘us’. We always worked on challenges together and had very close alignment on dealing with issues and continue to do so to manage this project effectively.

    It’s good to know how others use the system for the module you are supposed to implement, then you can ask more more questions in the design phase. Getting the right people to attend to the design workshops is essential, but of course difficult since everything happens at the same time.
