    Ask as many questions as possible from the very beginning. What would have helped is having a group that was fully knowledgeable with the product we were integrating. We also went through a couple different people on the Providence Technical Solutions team as people were being removed for not being up to par with our expectations.

    Test, test, test. We have some issues that it seems that Dayforce is having a hard time supporting since we use their HR module but not their benefits module. That seems to create some issues regarding pre-tax benefits that have limits such as DCFSA, Limited Purpose FSA, HSA contributions, etc.

    I wish we would have had Providence as our partner when implementing Ceridian Dayforce for our organization. We were referred to them after we had implemented and they have been great with getting our system set up the way it should have been vs. the way our implementation partner during implementation set up our environment and told us it could not be changed. Providence and their employees helped us figure out Ceridian’s potential for our needs. We will continue to use Providence for our needs whenever we can as they have been great with helping us with reporting, benefits and any other needs that have come up. They are easy to work with and are knowledgeable in the Ceridian software and do not promise us anything that cannot be done; they will be upfront if the system cannot handle what we need/want but will help us figure out a solution that works for us if that is the case.

    What was promised is not what was given in some cases. Ensure the customer is set for success – so much is put on the customer to ensure success when a new system they are unfamiliar with is being used for the first time. Yes, hand holding is appreciated.

    You really need to review your custom programs and have a solid conversion plan for them. Also, work on benefit plans earlier as not all companies have golden parachute plans and they can be complex and difficult to blend into conventional plans.

    Ask more detailed questions based on our current operations and expectation. Provide ICs that are more knowledgeable with the system as we had a lot of issues with questions not being answered correctly bc the ICs didn’t know the correct answers. IC’s should provide a clear and concise answers that encompasses are aspects of the system. They should be the SME’s not the client. We had numerous issues with not getting full answers to questions asked and had to go through one task several times to get it working. This was very frustrating and frankly annoying.

    This is our first time going through Open Enrollment with Ceridian Dayforce. Our Benefits plans were not set up by our Dayforce Benefits consultant (from the implementation group) as clean as expected. The DF consultants would show the correct configuration of our Benefits plans in the TEST environment, but then the setup is not correctly transferred over in our PROD environment. Needless to say, there was a lot of back of forth during the implementation period. Jennifer Morrow helped configure our Benefits plans for our Open Enrollment in two weeks and made set up corrections/cleaned up as she went along. Jennifer made herself available for last-minute changes, and I truly appreciate her thoughtful approach.
